Everything we do has a start somewhere. Once born, taking our first steps and our first words are things that are instinctual. As we get older the types of first steps we take are about our choices, with a degree of knowledge about consequences. As a boy learning to ride a bike I knew there was a risk of injury and after many mishaps and accidents I still ride a bicycle.
As I got older into adulthood my metabolism slowed and I gained some weight, the first steps where into the gym and changing my eating habits (why are the bad things soooo good). I knew there would be pain, but I knew there had to be a start somewhere.
Writing isn't something that comes naturally to me. I've made many attempts at keeping a journal, writing music and other creative endeavours. So why blog?
I love to express, even when it doesn't make sense. We've all heard the saying "opinions are like arseholes..." but it's not just about everyone having an arsehole. Everyone perceives arses differently. What I think is sexy and perfect is very different to someone else - One man's white ass trash is another's pleasure... Like my arse, my opinions and perspectives are always changing.
Flying Under the Radar is about perspectives, opinions and social commentary that differ from the mainstream. When I was thinking about writing a blog, the first thing I wanted to write about was an ongoing debate where Apple products are made. American press was jumping on a nationalistic bandwagon of why Apple products should be made in the USA. There were some great articles at the time about lack of skilled workers, cost of labour etc. Neglected were articles about how long until China is purchasing more Apple products than the US (if not already). I digress...
In a nutshell I'll try to write about things flying under the mainstream radar. And as I hit publish, I have taken some new first steps. Consequences? meh!
